Time to tumble

How long should I tumble a chainmaille Byzantine bracelet in a Lortone 3a tumbler?

Stacy's Answer:

Shirley, that would depend upon what metal you are tumbling and what medium you are tumbling in(i.e. stainless steel shot or something else, burnishing compound, Dawn liquid dish soap in water, etc.)

Assuming you're tumbling Sterling silver and are using stainless steel shot and Dawn/water, about 3-4 hours should shine it up nicely! You can always check the bracelet and if you think it still looks like it needs more tumbling, just start it again and check in another couple of hours or so.
