LOS and ear wires

Is it safe to oxidize ear wires with LOS? Will the patina irritate the skin?

While I can in no way guarantee that someone won't be bothered, I've done so for years Barb and wear ear wires that have been oxidized with no problems. However, I usually remove a good deal of the LOS patina from where the ear wire would rest in the ear lobe. After oxidizing, I always tumble the jewelry items for 1-2 hours which removes any excess patina and thoroughly cleans them.
