Can you tumble silver plated jump ring chainmail?

Can you tumble silver plated chainmail jewelry to harden it? Will it affect the plating?

Hi Lisa. Tumbling will polish up and help to harden silver or copper jewelry but it will remove plating. So I definitely recommend not tumbling any plated metal.
