Tubing, Capping & Riveting

cold connections classWith your own handmade bead caps and rivets, you can add a whole new dimension to your jewelry designs. In this fun, fast-paced workshop you’ll create your own unique bead caps and learn to how to cap and core lampwork beads. Then, we’ll take some of the mystery out of riveting as you learn different methods for cold-connecting metal.



Recommended tools to bring to the workshop:

  • Files – large and needle, various sizes

  • Sandpaper (medium to fine grit)

  • Jeweler’s saw and blade (blade size determined by metals selected - 2/0 is a good all-purpose blade size)

  • Hammer – ballpein or riveting

  • Bench vise

  • Anvil or bench block

  • Punches or other hard flared tool

  • Sharpie® (or other brand marker)

  • Ruler

  • Calipers, Brown and Sharp wire gauge, or other measuring device

  • Center hole punch set

  • Universal eyelet setter (such as found in the scrapbooking section of Jo-Ann stores)

  • Drill and metal drill bit

  • Ring clamp (or other holding device)

  • Ear protection

MATERIALS FEE  additional.

Tools will be available to borrow at the workshop. Your workshop fee includes a complete written tutorial.
