Autumn is Here!

Autumn has officially arrived! Of course, being in Florida, unless we pay close attention to the calender we have to stop by a craft store (or supermarket) to check out what's on display to be sure of which season's here. We don't get much of a change of colors or weather. Fall is my busiest time of the year....lots of events going on here.
I've been busy, busy, busy spending many hours at the bench creating great new jewelry pieces. I'll soon be launching new scarf pins — after all, it is Fall. My muse has been in high gear so look for keep an eye out here and my eBay store for lots of lots of new necklaces and bracelets also.
Check out my new Etsy store for jewelry designers called hodgepodgerie Necessities. This is where I'm offering all things necessary for your wire jewelry designs. Check back often as cool new stuff will be added daily...or near-daily :)
I recently enjoyed the honor of being the featured artist at the Sterling Society's monthly Coffee and Conversation. The Sterling Society actively promotes the growth of the Dunedin Fine Art Center (DFAC) and promotes interest and participation in the activities at the center. I had to speak for a whole hour. My students informed me that it would be no problem for me. Hmm...not quite sure what they meant by that. :)
I've got lots of classes scheduled at the DFAC. Check out the Fall calender for details. For those who live a bit south of the Tampa Bay area, I'm offering a 2 day Basic Wire Jewelry workshop at Firebug Designs in Venice on November 1-2.
On October 25th I will have several specially designed pieces available for purchase at A Taste of Good Hope, a benefit sponsored by the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast to benefit their sister hospice in Sub-Saharan Africa. Details and registration here. Come join us for "an exquisite evening of wire, art and jazz" to help a terrific cause!
November 1st begins the DFAC's annual holiday show, this year titled Great Expectations, where my handcrafted jewelry designs will be on display (and available for sale) in the gallery through December 23rd.
On Tuesday November 20th I'll be joining the Leading Ladies of Ruth Eckerd Hall Foundation as a guest speaker for their monthly luncheon. The Leading Ladies are community ambassadors for the arts education programs of the Marcia P. Hoffman Performing Arts Institute, and support the philosophy of education for life through the arts.
Enjoy the rest of your week and, for all you wire enthusiasts, happy wiring!
