The Kilimanjaro
Sterling silver and Lampwork Necklace

The mist shrouded Mount Kilimanjaro silhouetted against a fiery sky at sunset was the inspiration for this choker-style lampwork necklace. Swirled together in the borosilicate lampwork focal are the intense fiery hues of a sunset....cooled with a soft creamy pale amber.

I've wrapped the focal bead with yards and yards of coiled Sterling silver wire, creating a pendant 2 inches long.

The 17 inch hand-forged base of the necklace is a heavy gauge half-round Sterling silver wire that I've hardened so the choker keeps it's shape. A dark, rich patina enhances the textures of the coiled wire. Two Mykonos© Greek ceramic beads which have been dipped in pure silver are wrapped at the ends of the choker, providing a smooth comfortable glide as the choker is slipped on and off.

I've taken these photos in natural outdoor light. Indoors, borosilicate glass is more subdued...in this case, more misty in appearance. But sunlight as you can see, makes the colors really pop!

This exquisite choker-style lampwork necklace is very comfortable and easy to wear!
