▪ Freeform Silver Bangle Class ▪

In this fun half day workshop you will learn how to make a bangle bracelet with a freeform hammered focal, completely from Sterling silver wire. We will discuss various technical components and design elements. You will learn the art of twisting wire, shaping a freeform design, hammering and texturing techniques and adding a patina to your finished design.

You'll also learn how to implement variations of the basic design and embellish it to create your own style. With the techniques you learn in this class, you'll soon be creating your own beautiful freeform wire art jewelry.

Recommended tools to bring to the workshop:

  • Round nose pliers
  • Flat nose pliers
  • Chain nose pliers
  • Flush or semi-flush cutters that will cut up to 12 gauge wire
  • Ball peen or chasing hammer
  • Needle files
  • 6 inch ruler
  • Soft tape measure
  • Steel bench block
  • Sharpie® or other indelible pen
  • Hand towel
  • Polishing cloth
  • #000 Fine steel wool

Some tools will be available to borrow; however, I highly recommend bringing your own tools if you have them. I typically have quality tools available for purchase.

A separate materials fee will include all necessary gauges of Sterling silver wire and beads to complete your bracelet. You'll also take home a complete written tutorial.

Basic wire working skills recommended but all skill levels are welcome.
